a baby laying on top of a bed with the caption, my client started waking her thabyat
Natalie Zaun | Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant on Instagram: "I know it can feel a little counterintuitive—waking your baby earlier in the morning when you’re already running on fumes. But here’s the thing… consistency in the morning sets the tone for the entire day (and night!). When I suggested waking her baby up at 7 AM every morning, here’s what happened: • Naps became longer and more restful • Bedtime became easier and smoother • Those frustrating split nights started to fade away That’s cool, but why, Nat?! So glad you asked!… Because we were finally supporting baby’s natural circadian rhythm—helping their body know when to be awake and when to sleep. That 7 AM wake time helps set their internal clock every single day, building a rhythm that tells their body: “This is when we

Cat - Sleep Consultant on Instagram: "Becoming a parent often means figuring out baby sleep without much direction. We learn through trial and error, adjusting as we go. Here’s an interesting fact: 50% of your baby’s sleep patterns are influenced by nature, while the other 50% is shaped by your actions. The good news is, you can start supporting your baby’s sleep from day one! Here are a few simple steps to establish a strong sleep foundation early on. I help parents with this process through my step-by-step sleep programs, designed to be age-appropriate and customized to your baby’s needs. Need extra support? Lily | Baby & Toddler Sleep | Motherhood Support on Instagram: "Babywearing can be risky if done wrong. There are so many slings on the market these days, but not as much information on the safety of them. So to make sure you keep your little one safe, cosy, and perfectly positioned, be sure to keep these 5 letters in mind: T.I.C.K.S ✨️T – Tight: Your sling or carrier should hold your baby close to you. Loose fabric can cause them to slump down, making it harder for them to breathe. ✨️I – In View at All Times: You should always be able to see your baby’s face without moving the fabric or peeking around the sling. ✨️C – Close Enough to Kiss: Baby’s head should be high on your chest - you should be able to tilt your head and kiss the top of theirs easily. ✨️K – Keep Chin Off Chest: Ma
a woman holding a baby in her arms with a sign above it that says, this feeding position gives me so much
Nadda | Holistic SLP, IBCLC on Instagram: "🍼feeding your baby? This small position change can make a HUGE difference! 👀 👋🏽 Say goodbye to that traditional cradle hold 🙂‍↔️ and hello to elevated side lying! 😏This feeding position is a game-changer for all babies - breastfed, bottle-fed, or combo-fed! Why? Elevated side lying… 🍼 Most closely resembles biological norm with breastfeeding positioning 👶 Helps you tune into and read your baby’s cues better 🐢 Slows feeding, giving baby better control and ability to pace their feed vs gravity 📏 Improves body stability and alignment 😌 Supports digestion and regulation Have a Q? a baby laying on top of a bed with the caption calm your crying baby
Rebecca C. Perez | Pediatric Physical Therapist on Instagram: "When babies cry, our first instinct is to pick them up and comfort them. 🤗 It's important to respond to their needs but we can also help our babies calm down without picking them up. Like this tip, which helps calm them down but also helps develop their vestibular system. The vestibular system is a part of the inner ear that helps with balance and spatial awareness. When you gently rock your baby or allow them to experience different movements, it stimulates this system. This helps them learn how to balance and coordinate their movements better as they grow. By giving your baby these opportunities, you're not only comforting them but also supporting their overall development and helping them become more aware of their b

Pediatric Sleep & Postpartum Coach | Constance Lewis on Instagram: "If your baby is teething and sleep has suddenly fallen apart, you’re not imagining it — but you might be making it even harder without realizing. Here’s the truth: Only treating teething at bedtime is a huge mistake. Most parents wait until their baby is already miserable — right before naps or nighttime — to try soothing teething pain. But by that point, the discomfort and inflammation have built up all day long, making it 10x harder for your baby to settle and sleep. Here’s what to STOP doing: • Don’t wait until your baby is crying and miserable to address teething. • Don’t rely only on quick fixes like medicine or gels right before sleep. • Don’t assume “they’ll just grow out of it” without offering relief. Inste
a baby sitting in a car seat with the caption infant seat safety tips written on it
Modern Nursery on Instagram: "Here are some tips to maximize safety when traveling with a baby in the car: 🚘 Remove the newborn insert when the baby is around 11 pounds. This varies depending on the brand of car seat, so check the user manual for the specifications for your seat. 🚘 Make sure the bottom of the head rest is in line with the child’s shoulders to ensure optimal head and torso protection. Same thing goes for the shoulder straps- they should come out from the car seat in line or from below the child’s shoulders. 🚘 The chest clip should be in line with the infant’s armpits. This is really important as it ensures the crotch buckle and harness are positioned correctly. These are what primarily hold the child in place in the event of a crash. 🚘 Use the pinch test! Dr Alex Homdrum DC | Dr Ann Kristin Homdrum DC on Instagram: "Swaddling is a popular topic, and while we understand it’s a common practice, we have clear reasons why we would not recommend it to new parents 💛 This post is about optimising development, so if you’ve been swaddling please do not worry - you have done nothing wrong - simply try to implement what we share below 👇🏼 💛

Babies are born with a need to move—and that movement matters, even during sleep 👶🏼

Swaddling can restrict natural movement and suppress important reflexes, like the Moro reflex, which the brain needs to experience in order to mature and eventually inhibit 🧠

When these reflexes remain active, it can lead to developmental delays and compensations later on 😬

Jenny + Carrie | Baby Registry l Newborn Care | Nursery on Instagram: "I get it—pacifiers are everywhere and I relied on them to with my first. A little too much. 😅

After that we learned the newborn brain is growing FASTER during the first 3 months-everything is shaping the future skills babies need for the whole first year and beyond.

Here’s what I do instead when my newborn is fussy:

•. Carefully watch for cues before cries
	•	I hold them close
	•	Speak gently
	•	Rock slowly
	•	Offer the breast if needed
	•	Let them cry with me for a moment

Because crying is communication. It’s healthy to not stop it. ❤️

It’s how they tell us their needs—and when I respond calmly, they feel seen and safe.

👉No need to start something I’ll just have to take away later.
