The knit Estelle Dress sewing pattern with her slinky fit really doesn’t allow for pockets…or does it? We found a way to add a super secret pocket behind the waist tie, and it’s easier than you might think! Find out how to do it in our Stitch School Tutorial!
Maz on Instagram: "Another Estelle! This one is made with a gorgeous melange cotton jersey fabric, kindly gifted by @minervadotcom. I absolute love this ‘dark forest green’ jersey which is part of their core range. There are loads of other colours to choose from too and the melange adds a bit off interest as opposed to a flat colour. It was really lovely and easy to work with. For this Estelle I changed the neckline to make it easier and more my style. I also added slits (if you read my previous post you know my concerns about being able to do a full work out and lunge in the previous dress!) which allow for a lot more movement. I did shorten the slit a good 6” as I have a dog and small child and it just makes sense when I’m collecting toys and 💩 off the floor regularly! But I love this pattern, it’s clever and great instructions. However, I had horrid hem issues as I just couldn’t get it straight. I started off with the side slit version but decided to stitch them up. I couldn’t unpick the stretch stitching so it’s a bit puckered where I’ve sewn the slits back up! Doh! I went up a size from my last version because lots of lumps and bumps seem to have appeared! 😂😂 This clingy green and gold stretch fabric from Fletchers in Leeds isn’t very forgiving! 😱😂 Anyway I wore it to my lovely friend’s birthday party. 🎉🥂🎂 #soiestelledress #soipatterns #sewoverit #sewsistersow #sewov
