Waterloo Military Medal. The Waterloo Medal was awarded to all British soldiers who took part in the series of battles against the French which ended with the Battle of Waterloo itself on 18th June, 1815. On one side of the medal is the head of George, the Prince Regent (who became King George IV in 1820) and on the other the Angel of Victory. his medal was won by a soldier from Monymusk, Aberdeenshire who fought at Waterloo. He was Sergeant Lewis Beggs of the Sutherland Highlanders.
