Shiva's Footprints, 7th–8th C.. Northern Cambodia. The worship of footprints is an ancient Indian practice that was shared by Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains. In 5th C. India, shrines dedicated to holy footprints, predominantly of Vishnu (vishnupada), were widespread.
