A buckler fighter from the British Library's Add MS 49622, c. 1310 – 1324, brandishing a buckler which reminded me of the depicted example from the Royal Armouries, made of cuir bouilli with iron boss and six-foil fittings. The swordsman is shown in a very unusual perspective with his back towards the viewer, hence the somewhat bizarre alienesque face.
