Neville Brody did a advertisement about basketball players for the fans in August of 2010, saying that they weren't born like that, they made themselves like this. the shape of a player making a shot & on illustractor using a typography of the white words describing to be a winner & etc & using the red typography to grab peoples eyes. I like this because Neville Brody is using a silhouette to describe the bill board & using the red to draw them in.
Using a blurry photo, David Carson throws in random letters, with red writing saying I think it is really important that designers put themselves into their work. No one else has your background, upbringing or life experiences, using Illustractor to make a letter pattern, making them bigger & small, the blue colour make it stand out. it shows what some artist or designers should do. I like this because it shows the other side of Carson that he also does surfing & he made this in 2014
This is a work done by Mark Rothko with using red & yellow paint in the 1940's, using three different types of yellow patterns, very light of the bottom by too much water on the brush, medium yellow in the middle & medium water, a gold yellow on the top & a touch of brown, a bright red rectangle close to the bottom & another small red rectangle but not much paint on the brush. I like this because of the three yellow patterns blend together & the two red rectangles were very eye catching.
Raoul Hausman is a Dada art and back in 1920 he made this with random images called ABCD, he used random images from newspapers to create a weird pattern & texture. When I first saw my eye went to the ABCD logo in the mouth with the bits of space, the differefent tones & the random hands at the bottom. I picked this because the face with the space in the mouth captured my eye & then the random images.
Jon Burgerman was in a subway & saw this billboard for the new James Bond 007 movie in 2014, he stand next to it & had a friend take a picture of him acting like he is been shot in the head & by using Photoshop to put the texture of the blood. i like this because he made the red look like real blood photoshop & like Daniel Craig actully shot him.
Jamie Reid made this for the band Sex Pistols in 1977, using typography & collage, doing collage on the face & then using typography on Illustractor to keep it together, the texture on the face shows how creative it can be. I like this because of the way the face is shown with the big mouth & the black bits covering the eyes
