This handmade and hand stitched Red and White Christmas Gingerbread Garland is made up of felt Reindeer, Gingerbread men and embroidered hearts. I use 30% and 40% wool mix felt to hand sew 3 Gingerbread men, each one has hand embroidered ‘icing’ and has a jolly bow tie and white buttons. The Gingerbread men are 9cm tall and 7cm wide. I thread them onto 1.5m of red satin ribbon interspaced with 2 felt Reindeer and 4 red and white hand embroidered hearts. The reindeer have the same ribbon bow. The Gingerbread men Reindeer and hearts are all lightly filled with polyester toy filling.

Tie-dyed Teabag Paper A5 Coptic Journal (Folksy068)
I love to experiment with different papers when I am creating cyanotype prints. And this paper is a whole new experience for me. It's teabag paper, which is very fine, but also strong. Tie dying paper is not usually something you’d do, because it’s usually too fragile to be manipulated this way, especially when it’s damp. But tea bag paper is actually designed to be strong when it’s wet, perfect for tie-dye cyanotype prints. You can find lots of lovely journals in my @folksy shop.

Cyanotype printing is a very old form of photography
I use flowers as the subjects for my prints … wildflowers from the lanes around my beautiful Wiltshire home … Umbelliferae, Mallows and Poppies are my favourites. I mustn’t forget the jolly oxeye daisies, which grow in abundance right on my doorstep! Every cyanotype print is completely unique. Even if I use the same flowers, the same added ingredients, no two prints will ever be identical. This print features wild Wiltshire Ox-eye daisies!

I bind the journals using Coptic stitching, an ancient form of bookbinding, which is both beautiful and practical … you can open and close them a thousand times, they will not loosen or lose their shape.
