Adolph Huesgen traces his family’s winemaking heritage in the Mosel back to 1735: he is the ninth generation. The family’s base is a beautiful Art-Nouveau house in Traben-Trarbach designed by Bruno Möhring in the early 20th century at a stage when this town was second in size only to Bordeaux as a wine trading centre.

Villa Huesgen Schiefer Riesling 2011. Named after the slate which formed its character, this is a fresh, elegant Riesling with clear and complex flavours reminiscent of apricots, peaches and a light citrus note. The fine and typical minerality characterizes this wine which is crisp on the palate and well balanced with an excellent finish.

Villa Huesgen Riesling Kabinett 2009. An elegant full-bodied Riesling with a little viscosity, though bone dry. Clear and complex flavours of crisp citrus fruit and hints of ripe apricots and peaches. On the palate this Kabinett seduces with its fine minerality, a hint of gun-flint, grapefruit, honey and a long lingering fruity finish. Alc. 11.5%
