Viader, CALIFORNIA

Argentinian-born Delia Viader has brought a unique interpretation of Napa Valley wine to the table, with a European influence. She was brought up in France mostly and developed an enthusiasm for the wines of Bordeaux, which is apparent in the wines Viader now produces.

VIADER
As Stephen Brook puts it: “Viader remains an extremely robust wine, with sumptuous fruit but less of the obvious fleshiness of more conventional Bordeaux blends from the valley floor and the benches. This is a wine with backbone, a touch of welcome severity and a good deal of spice.” Viader dares to be different and is all the more welcome for that.

Viader 2008
Viader 2008. The aromatics bring forth delicate white floral notes, with bright red and blue fruits, and subtle hints of lightly scorched wood. Lively acidity supports a very broad flavour profile with a touch of brown sugar, milk chocolate, and vanilla bean tones which complement the smooth and silky texture. Sweet ripe tannins create a full-bodied and balanced mouthfeel. Within two hours, the wine shows more dark red fruits, with a touch of spice and liquorice.
