Viennese Biscuit Whirls
These pretty, melt-in-the-mouth biscuits are far easier to make than their intricate piped appearance would have you believe. When piping the shapes, use a large open star tip and try to keep them roughly the same size so that the cooking time stays the same – you don't want to end up with burnt little ones! Simple delicious jam and cream recipe.
Rainbow Smarties Cookies
12min · 12 servings Ingredients • 265g plain flour • 1 tsp cornflour • 1 tsp baking soda • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 170g unsalted room temperature butter (softened, not melted) • 150g light brown sugar • 100g caster sugar • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk, at room temperature • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste • 100g crushed smarties + 70g whole smarties (plus extra for the tops of the cookies)
Homemade Oreos
If you love Oreos, you might want to try making these little sandwich cookies at home! I use a mixture of standard cocoa powder and intense dark cocoa powder which is harder to get hold of than normal cocoa powder but readily available online. If you can't find it, or don't like the taste of it, use normal cocoa powder instead. Must try chocolate recipe for Oreo lovers. Makes: approximately 16 cookies.
Homemade Jammy Dodgers
These deliciously light and crisp sandwich cookies are so much better when made from scratch. Use a Tala open tip piping nozzle to cut out the central window for the jam to peep through and experiment with flavoured jams. This recipe is a great one for the kids too.
