How to read old writing
Old English handwriting isn't very easy to read to our modern eyes. The writing looks beautiful, especially the first line of text and an initial letter. But how many of us can read the text? So much detail on one headstone
This the headstone for Elizabeth Horner, who died in 1802. Her husband was Thomas Horner. Her father was Rev. Thomas Paget. And then they have listed her children and her children's wives and husbands. Just one of many images of headstones that you might helpful as you build your family tree.
