#whatifeedmykids A quick easy Mauritian style Bryiani??? The question mark is because I used tumeric instead of saffron and it only took me less than 2 hours!!!! Whilst a real Bryiani takes a good 24hours including marinating the meat overnight, parboils it's rice then layers each component into a pot then let's it steam till the rice is fully cooked and fluffy and all the spices and flavours permeat the whole dish! Oh yeah, and it also uses Ghee! And it uses yoghurt and not sour cream! But ...
#whatifeedmykids I made my brown lentils slightly different this time. I cooked them as usual, adding the usual ingredients, then instead of just frying the garlic, ginger and onions separately and adding them to the lentils, I essentially made a small rougaille sauce by frying fresh chopped tomatoes along with the usual garlic, ginger and onion mix.
