Rustic Coffee Table with Eight Drawers
Whilst it may look old, this large coffee table is actually a newly made piece, produced using old wood, including an old door as the top surface. This extends over slightly tapered legs and the small drawers, each fitted with a simple ring handle. There are four drawers on each side of the table, providing plenty of useful storage space for magazines, games or remotes. #coffeetable #rustictable #naturalwood #drawers #elmwood
Elm Daybed Coffee Table
This charming low elm table was produced in Shanxi province, central China in a simple style with a carved 'cloud head' spandrel at the top of each leg. Originally it would have been used as a daybed for seating or reclining and is narrower and smaller than those typically made. It's natural finish beautifully shows off the grain of the elm wood and today it makes a lovely long coffee table or extra seating for under a window. #daybed #chineseantiques #antiquecoffeetable #elmwood

Black and Red Kang Table with Drawers
Shanxi, circa 1880 This low, elongated table is perfect as a slim coffee table in front of a sofa, providing functional storage space within its three drawers. It originates from Shanxi province in central China, and was originally used as a daily surface, situated on the heated kang platform which served as the main living area during colder months. Made of elm wood, the table features a black finish with a once vibrant red lacquer on the front. The red lacquer is mostly intact on the drawers, but the legs and frames have worn, resulting in a unique and exceptional finish. The table top extends beyond the legs and retains its original black finish, now displaying a beautiful patina from years of use.
Antique Low Black Table, Shanxi, c1880
This cute little table in elm is from Shanxi province, the old black lacquer finish now worn around the top surface and feet. It would have been used on the 'kang' - an earth, brick or stone platform that was used for reclining on during the day and which would be heated from underneath in the colder months. Low level cabinets and tables like this were used for serving food or as display surfaces. Great today as a little TV stand or coffee table.
