Ebony Spatulas
Hand carved from ebony and inspired by the stone spatulate tools found at the Ness of Brodgar. The ebony is a piece imported for the use of making fretboards for guitars and didn’t make the grade. Their loss is our gain. A stunning little piece that will create a lot of conversation and is extremely tactile.
Elm grooved bowl
A stunning, hand carved, grooved bowl turned from Scottish elm on an ebonised base.
Collaboration
Three pieces finished as a result of a collaboration with expert basket weaver Jane Haselden of Five in the Nest. Two are turned from Scottish elm inspired by apothecary pots, one has basket weave design hand applied pyrography, the other has pyrography and an ebony stopper. The third piece is turned from Padauk (off cuts from instrument makers) with pyrography inside. The cocoons are woven from hand stripped Phormium Tenax fibres harvested from our garden.
