Castle Kennedy, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland. Estate owned by Kennedy's since 1482, John, Lord Kennedy appointed keeper by King James IV. At the time, the castle on an island, the present White & Black Lochs, separated by a narrow isthmus, were one area of water. Surviving for a little over a century Castle Kennedy was built in 1607, only to be burned down in 1716, it remains a beautiful ruin to this day.Scotland
