Pressed flowers

The craft uses of pressed dried flowers are large and varied: framed pictures, lampshades, cards & invitations to name but a few. We only recently started selling pressed flowers at Daisyshop and were surprised by the response. See our range at daisyshop.co.uk/shop/category_pressed_dried_flowers/Pressed-dried-flowers.html

Pressed rose frames handmade in Sussex UK
I pressed these dark red roses from flowers grown in Sussex and framed them in different brass hanging frames. We all know that red roses symbolise romance but did you know that dark red roses symbolise commitment?
Delphinium herbarium wall art with dried flowers
This is a picture of my hallway where I display my most recent dried flower finds. There are always roses dried from a fresh bunch and bits and bobs picked from my garden. The wall art is a framed herbarium of UK grown blue Larkspur flowers pressed in my Sussex workshop.
Pressed flower art with blue UK grown Delphiniums
I've been pressing flowers for fifteen years or more, and handmade this pressed flower art. I used UK grown annual Delphiniums in shades of blue, cream and green, pressed in our Sussex workshop. These Delphiniums are also known as Consolida or Larkspur and represent lightheatedness in the language of flowers. The picture is inspired by Victorian herbariums. The large pressed flower art is available complete with frame, or there are small cards too. Bring some nature into your home!
Pressed Crocosmia flowers for craft and herbarium art
We press our own flowers in Sussex to sell in our online UK shop. Crocosmia is also known as Montbretia. As well as the smaller orange pressed flower heads, we've recently branched out into larger pieces for use in herbarium art or larger pictures. In the pic is a collection data sheet which can be used to generate herbarium info if needed. Herbarium specimens were originally collected by scientists and traditionally include recording data such as species, date, location and collectors name.
Viola flowers ready for pressing in Sussex UK
Violas are my favourite flowers to press because not only are they reliable but also every flower is different. I love their individual markings and faces and sometimes they have a sweet scent too. As well as the small flower heads, I've recently started pressing larger pieces including the stem and leaves. This makes them great for more naturalistic pictures or herbarium specimens.
Pressed Viola in purple with stem and leaves for herbariums and craft
I've been pressing flowers for many years but have recently branched out into larger pieces. Up until now we were only selling the Viola flower heads. These come with stem and leaves attached, in purple, yellow or bicolour. They could be used for more naturalistic art or as diy herbarium specimens. They were grown and pressed in Sussex. Read more about why on the blog, and find out about herbaria.
Pressed daffodils for spring from our own workshop
These little pressed daffodils are the variety Narcissus Sol d'Or which are grown in the UK. They're the first of our spring pressings and we'll continue to press them in small batches as long as we can get them until Easter.
