1950s Japan Black Cat Tea pot 9inches tall
This black cat teapot was made in Japan in the early 1950's. Made of red clay and glazed in black it is probably a Shafford but is unmarked. The green eyes with black pupils and gold eyeliner were painted on after the black glaze was fired. With his cute red mouth and shiny red bow tie, he is ready to join your home. Whether it be to sit in comfort on your shelf or join you at the table for tea, he will be the purrrfect companion!
