Add 1 tsp. of liquid food coloring to 1 cup of water. Drizzle the colored water onto the soil surrounding the base of a plant. Wait 24 hours for the water to absorb. Apply another identical dose if the color change was not sufficient.
Choose a thick branch or the trunk, hollow it out (made even easier if the wood has rotted) and create a flat bottom to it. Add some soil and a favourite plant or two and you'll have a lovely looking pot that will both stand out and blend into your garden. Wonder if i can use our dead stup out the back - or will it be too hard to hollow out?
