Wilford Toll Bridge known as "Halfpenny Bridge".Toll box with the old toll House in the back ground. The first bridge was built in 1870 to replace the ferry that crossed the river Trent. It was owned by the Clifton family untill they sold it to the Council in 1969.It has change a lot over the years but the old toll House is still there and is now a grade 2 listed building. There is a very interesting piece on" Picture the Past" that's worth a read.
