Robert Frost portrait collaboration poster. This resource is an engaging and contemporary way for students to work together to create a large multi-colored mosaic/poster/mural of Robert Frost that captures the essence of collaboration. This resource is intended to complement/supplement any Robert Frost lesson or general poetry unit. Perfect for National Poetry Month. It’s a great way to begin a unit/lesson or cap one off. You may also like my "Nothing Gold Can Stay" Poem Poster. The letters on the page spell out “ROBERT FROST” over and over again and form Robert Frost’s portrait. Students, depending on their ability/grade level, will either color in the letters (poster #1) or just color over the entire page (poster #2). Fine motor skills are necessary and discreet differentiation is built into this poster. You will see that the letter sizes on the pages are different. Decide which page works well for each student and provide an experience that will work for everyone. While at first, it may seem challenging to color the small letters, you will find that it’s much easier than it looks - remember that each child only needs to color one page - encourage them to do their best, and they will be so amazed at the end. Poster Details: There are 24 poster pieces in this design. Each piece fits on a regular 8.5” x 11” piece of copy paper. The final poster is approx. 28” x 42” (4x6 grid) There are 2 poster options to make this poster work for any grade level. Poster #1 is designed for 3rd grade and above. Shades of blue markers and colored pencils are needed. Light PURPLE paper needed. Students color in each of the letters on the pages Poster #2 is designed for Prek-2nd grade. Shades of purple crayons are needed for this poster. Regular white copy paper is needed (8.5” x 11”) Students color over the entire page (letters are printed in black) *If you don’t have purple paper for poster #1, you could use another light color or just leave the background white. HOWEVER - it’s VERY important that the background color is lighter than the letters, or else the poster will NOT work correctly. If the background isn’t lighter than the small letters, it will look like a photo negative. I have also included a bonus coloring page in this product.
