Identified using dissertation of dr Anne-Barbara Knerr "Idar-Obersteiner Modeschmuck und Metallwaren aus dem 19. und 20. Jahrhundert", 2007. 1900's, Louis Gottlieb & Karl Wagner, Idar-Oberstein, Germany. This manufacture was one of biggest in Idar-Oberstein workshops even as a better known factory of Jakob Bengel. Can be used as a bracelet. In fact, it's NOT "Faith, Hope, Charity"... In catholic Europe is known as "Love, Hope, Faith". These 3 symbols are three attributes of good Christian. Remember of fragment Chapter 13 of the First Epistle to the Corinthians (Paul the Apostle 1 Cor 13,13)... "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." In the original Greek, the word αγαπη (agape) is used throughout. This is translated into English as charity in the King James version; but the word "love" is preferred by most other translations, both earlier and more recent. (To be exact "Agape" is nowadays translated from greek as "unconditional love"). MADE OF: copper, chrome electroplated with nickel. CONDITION: Excellent antique condition. With no repairs or loses. Spring ring clasp and lobster claw clasp both works fine. Plate with minimal wear. MEASUREMENTS: long from end to end: 13 5/8" (34,5cm). Wide max: 2 1/4" (57mm).
