I Can Write to Inform- A Writing Unit for Little Learners

This unit is full of ideas and examples of how to write to inform. It looks at 4 different kinds of informative writing. 1. inform a reader about a topic 2. explain a process or a set of steps (how to) 3. compare and contrast 2 things 4. explain something using an if/then statement There are writing ideas, rough draft paper, anchor charts, writing examples, ideas for the teacher, various graphic organizers, planning pages, and idea generations.
