Are you looking to put a little more engagement into your Human Body Unit? This unit will put the spark in student learning. Students not only learn the names of the major organs in the Human Body, they will learn their function, where they are in the body, and lots lots more. The best part is that is there is NO-PREP! Everything is print and go with lots of projects. Students will make their body bag and doctor’s hats the first day. The following days read the individual Medical Journals for each organ either in small group or whole group. Take notes using the Medical Chart note taking book or a graphic organizer for each organ. Finally, complete a project for each organ showing the organ in action. I have also included interactive notebook items for students to use if you are using a science interactive notebook. You will also find a planning sheet and writing paper for a culminating writing activity at the end of the unit. My students find this unit so exciting. I hope yours will too. Here is a listing of what is included… • 6 Body Part Medical Journals • 6 Body Part Research Graphic Organizers • 6 Body Part Interactive Notebook entries • Medical Chart Information collection booklet • 6 Body Part projects/models • Writing graphic organizer and a variety of publishing writing paper. • Instruction for making a Body Bag organizer TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID… Jeanna G. said, “I used this product to home school my 7 year old son. It was awesome week of "medical school" I included a the Magic School Bus The Human Body and wrapped everything up with DK Human Body for realism. He tells all his friends about his systems and where in his noggin the math center is, all quite fun. The Lungs were the most fun to construct. Thanks for sharing all your hard work.” Creative ELA My Way said, “This is a VERY thorough and detailed unit! I wish we would've had more time to complete the entire unit (we were already half-way through when I found this). My students especially loved wearing the brain hats.. We actually use them still and just call them their "Thinking Caps" and they like to put them on before a test; ha! I also added "Dr. _____" on their hats instead of just their name. They REALLY enjoyed this unit. I was able to utilize the Medical Journals in independent centers as well. Also, I purchased doctor file folders (the ones with the prongs in the middle) for students to keep a running record and all their work in one place instead of using a bag. It worked perfectly & was easier to store and keep track of. Cannot thank you enough. Totally worth every dollar spent! I am very much looking forward to using again next year!” Your time is so valuable, let me help you by providing you will a fun and engaging way to cover your science and social studies curriculum.
