In this combination, Geranium will flower first, but even in the late season, the geranium will give a beautifull contrast to the bold leaves of hydrangea. Even without flowers, this combination will look interesting. Geranium sanguineum var. striatum is my favorite for creating contrast and bringing texture to your garden.
