Doxa were established in Le Locle in 1889 by the 21 year old Georges Ducommun. Doxa, meaning Glory in Greek was chosen as brand name to signify the optimism Georges had for his timepieces. Through the 19 th and 20 th centuries the brand garnered a reputation for innovation and quality winning a Gold Medal for his anti magnetic watch at the Worlds Fair in Milan, Italy in 1906.
