Antique 19th Century Chinese Teapot Famille Rose | Vibrant Colors | Hand-Painted | Enamel | Canton Porcelain | Floral-Birds-Butterflies

This beautiful hand-painted Famille Rose Chinese teapot, dating from the 19th century, showcases intricate enamel scenes of Chinese birds, butterflies, and array of florals-most prominently the peony. Famille Rose, a type of Chinese porcelain introduced in the 18th century during the Qing Dynasty, is defined by its vibrant colors in pinks, blues, greens, and yellows, often on a grayish white background. This teapot is also a fine example of Canton porcelain, a type of overglaze colored porcelain produced in Canton (now Guangzhou) becoming particularly popular for the export market starting in the 1820s. It also features delicate folding wire handles wrapped with cord for added charm. Despite a small chip near an imperfection on the base (see photo #10), it remains in excellent antique condition. Measures approximately 5 inches tall and 6 inches wide at the spout.
