Since September 2024, free “childcare hours” have been available for eligible babies aged from just 9 months as well as for eligible toddlers and preschoolers aged up to Compulsory School Age. Little Acorns Nursery in Hindley Green supports the funding scheme and this is great news for those families of under-fives living in and around Hindley Green, Leigh, Bickershaw and Wigan, Greater Manchester, as they will be able to access substantial free childcare. What’s more, the number of free hours is set to increase this year (2025) for the youngest children.
