Ed Thoman of Spring Grove rides the Hanover Trolley Trail 3-mile roundtrip five times every day. Even before the Trolley Trail was part of the York County Rail Trail, Thoman had explored the trail-- for years. Thomas was raised about a block from the trail, and as a kid he wandered the path, the nearby swamp and the woods. The trolley line from York to Hanover was opened in 1908, but the popularity of cars ended service in 1938.       Bil Bowden photos
