allymande: Vincent van Gogh - Girl in the woods (1882) The stillness in this - that perfect not-silence of the woods, the hush, the feeling of peace - god, there’s no sky in this, none of his frenetic, sometimes-desperate sometimes-joyful brushwork. I can feel the trees, hear them standing testament to years. And I can’t look at this without crying, which I feel like I say every time I post a Van Gogh but it doesn’t stop being true. via http://jennathings.tumblr.com/
