JEAN PAUL GAULTIER, French designer Jean Paul Gaultier (b.1952). Haute couture fashion designer. Gaultier was the creative director of Hermès from 2003 to 2010. His first individual collection was released in 1976 and his characteristic irreverent style dates from 1981, and he has long been known as the enfant terrible of French fashion. Designed the infamous cone bra for Madonna's 1990 Blond Ambition Tour.
Jean Patou -Though best known for his landmark woman's fragrance, Joy (which in 1929 was marketed as the "most costly perfume in the world"), Jean Patou's far-reaching influence can be found in everything from the cardigan to women's sportswear (like the tennis skirt) to his famous cubist sweaters.
