Lemon Metangue Tart from La PanotiQ patisserie in Campbell, Ca. The tart was beautiful to look at but the two most important elements were off. The crust was soggy and stale, the filling was mediocre and bland. Sadly disappointed.

Mini Lemon Tart from Kelly's French Bakery in Santa Cruz, Ca. These little tarts are cute but not up to par. The crust is so thick there is almost no room left for filling. Crust is a little soggy and bland. Filling is a bit jam like rather than creamy and there is not enough of it.

Lemon Merangue Tart from French Corner in Encinitas Ca. This tart was near perfection. The crust had a delicious shortbread taste and texture. My only complaint was that it was a tiny bit too thick. The delicious lemony filling and perfect merangue (all made in house) would have been complimented perfectly by a more delicate crust. All the other pastries here were also authentic and divine.
