A Slavic workshop of stylists and photographers called Treti Pivni have decided to bring back one of the more amazing Ukranian traditions by giving it a new meaning. They've produced a portrait series of modern Ukranian women dressed in traditional Ukranian floral headdresses.
Ukraine - Naturally beautiful! This is one of my favourite photo captures of a Ukrainian child! She is wearing a sunflower and poppies in her hair - two national flower emblems of Ukraine along with the wheat upon her shoulder this says: Ukraine! Simply beautiful!
Sarafan, the Russian folk costume that was traditional dress for peasant women up until the 20th century. Middle and upper class women were quicker to discard the traditional costume - early in the 18th century - as a consequence of Peter the Great's efforts to modernize Russia.
Ukraine- Ukrainian culture is a lot more familiar to me because my country shares a border with it and I learnt a little bit about it when growing up, it is very rich in embroidery and flower motifs, I think this could a very original setting for the play, yet still keeping it in the same continent as the original version
