Tangerine Aster Bday Card. Have a Wonderful Birthday by Neva Cole There are so many wonderful tangerine colored flowers, the daisy asters being one example. I created this card with the hope of making these flowers burst forward and to isolate the sentiment and draw attention back to the card. Super fun to create
Whoa. Lovely, and kinda weird…. my favorite combo! These portraits are the work of American artist Serena Cole. I was in Minneapolis in June, and I wish I was still there because Serena has a show opening at SooVAC on September 15th. If you’re there… go!
"How do I feel about My Parents' Diviorce" is by Julia Cole. The illustrator is Christopher O'Neill. The photographer is Roger Vliltos. This book uses drawings (of possibly watercolor and pen) and photographs to make the pictures it has. The layout has topics discussing the kid's view of a divorce, from the beginning, through to afterwards. There are topics, speech bubbles, and numbered sequences of what could happen.
I really like this idea for the younger grades. I am a big fan of students working with others, because I believe that is when you learn best. But there are times when it needs to be independent work and I think this is a great way to monitor the noise level in the classroom.
