"Behold, I am the Immaculate Conception"  Today marks the first apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in 1858 to St. Bernadette Soubirous. Between February 11 and July 16, 1858, the Blessed Mother appeared to a poor, uneducated, sickly fourteen-year-old Marie Bernade (St. Bernadette) times in the in the hollow of the rock at Lourdes, called “de Massabielle”.

St. Bernadette of Lourdes was 14 when she saw a vision of Mother Mary while gathering firewood. Nobody believed her at first until miracles began to happen. She continued to see visions of Mother Mary who wanted people to turn back to God. St. Bernadette became a nun later and suffered from illness until her death at 35. She remained joyful through her sufferings. She is the patron saint of sick people. Her feast day is on April 16th.
