I saw this idea of placing cinder blocks around the outside of the pen to help keep predators from digging under the fence. I planted daylillies in the ones along the front of the pen, and bell peppers along the side. I fed the bell peppers to the chickens (they loved them!) I think I may plant different herb along the side this year.
