View of Bakersfield, California from the 18th and Eye Street parking structure. I would like to say that's a coastal marine layer over the mountains. It's not. Photos by David Seibold

Fox Theater in Bakersfield, California on H Street. The Fox sign must be on a timer or photocell. By the time I shot this, the sign had turned off. Photos by David Seibold

There are two pretty unusual things about this shot at Mill Creek in Bakersfield, California. It's daytime which is odd for me since I mainly roam the streets of Bakersfield in the dark and there is no water in the ponds and very little in the canal. Maybe repair time? I guess it's odd for me to have people in the photo and even odder that some of the people are family. OK. That's three things. I guess the fourth thing is that I can't count. A small portion of the remains in Rhyolite, Nevada. The ghosts have slipped into the dark recesses and the steel wool has been put away for another day. The ghost town is not near as ominous during the day as it is at night. You want to visit at night. Photos by David Seibold

The Day Before The End-- These two old PG&E cooling towers were scheduled to be demolished the next day. They were. Unfortunately, as a result of the explosives used and the proximity of watchers, there were injuries. Bakersfield, California 2013.
