Eclectic is definitely a word I would use to describe my favorite designs. A little bit old, a little bit new, a little bit sleek, a little bit plush, a little masculine, and a little feminine. Or possibly a lot of feminine, when the mood strikes. The above room really excels at balancing masculine and feminine touches. It has a great vintage vibe mixed with the more modern white wall and art. It’s pretty clear that whoever lives here is a fun, creative person. The sofa is not something I’d choose but quite a showstopper nonetheless. I really don’t like the rug though. Country, Mid-Century, Bohemian, Scandinavian, etc, etc. I can point out so many styles being touched upon in this room and yet it is entirely cohesive. That is quite a feat. A restricted color palette works wonders, folks. Le sigh. This is classic Emily Henderson. So comfortable, so fun, an excellent use of plants, a Mid-Century influence updated to feel fresh. I like really want a navy blue velvet sofa and it’s all Emily’s fault. She is notorious for using blue a lot but that’s because it really is such a good color. It’s widely liked by both men …
