GULF OF ADEN (April 18, 2015) – Sailors and Marines aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) participate in a swim call. Iwo Jima is the flagship for the Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), provides a versatile sea-based, expeditionary force that can be tailored to a variety of missions in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
As an AIRR candidate you must meet a certain standard during the Navy Physical Screening Test (PST). During the swim portion, an AIRR candidate may use sidestroke or breaststroke and utilize American crawl/freestyle or a combination of all. #AmericasNavy #USNavy #Navy navy.com
