Dress, Elizabeth Bertch, Youngstown, OH, ca. 1920s. Gray silk crepe embroidered with geometric pattern in blue thread, tarnished silver floss, & seed beads. Round front neck, stand collar with embroidered back. Unfitted bodice with embroidered panel on front & left shoulder snap closure. Attached vest-like overwrap. Embroidered hip band & loop with snap closure at left hip; lightly gathered skirt with embroidered ”floating panels” lined with chiffon. Kent State Univ. Museum
Made by Mme. Marie Reeves, New York, 1895-97. Two-piece dress of ivory satin with multicolored Chinese floral embroidery, pearl and braid trim, inset chiffon, and satin self-belt. Skirt has chiffon ruffle at hem and large open pleats at back of plain satin with 2 inset chiffon pleats. Silk thread.
