I remember asking my grandmother how she felt when Franklin D. Roosevelt died and she said that she didn't feel anything because she couldn't vote. She lived to be 102 years old and was alive to see the first African American U.S. President. I was so happy that this woman who once was unable to vote also saw history made with the first African American President.
