Bucket mouth - With a mouth as big as a dumpster bin it's no wonder they command every respect when close to these guys! This young male was performing for us as we watched a flock of nest building golden weaver birds. Ruaha NP- Tanzania

Flighty baby hippo! - This baby hippo was not happy with all the attention it was getting from a small flock of Red-billed Ox-peckers and was heading back to mum and the safety of water! Captured from a hide dug into the banks of the Luangwa River, South Luangwa Nat Park.

Sideways tusker :o) - Whilst up in the remote North Luangwa Nat Park- Zambia, we came upon this unusual sighting of a male hippo who's (normally curled inside) tusks had grown completely sideways out from his mouth! I have often seen other hippos who's tusks have grown outside their mouths and they are usually curled, but this guy certainly stood out from the pod, and most others gave him a wide berth as one could imagine by being stabbed very easily by this set of canines!
