Oil on canvas portrait of William Spencer Hungerford (1804-1873/74), unsigned, housed in a carved gilt wood frame. History: Subject was a lawyer and possibly a judge, born in Litchfield, Connecticut and died in Hartford, Connecticut. His nephew Uri T. Hungerford (b. 1841) started the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Connecticut in 1916, named after his mother. Sight: 35-1/2" H x 28-1/2" W. Frame: 42" H x 35" W. Mid-19th century.
