Charlotte Bronte (1816 - 1855) - an astounding writer, 'Jane Eyre' still remains one of my all time favourite novels. For me, the deeper, grittier works of the Bronte sisters will always far outshine the more celebrated Jane Austin and her frivolous social ettiquette novels about getting the right husband! I'll take brooding over ballrooms any day!.

Anne Bronte - if you have not read Tenant of Wildfell Hall, then you do not know how to live your life.
