The Jensen Interceptor. These were made from the later 1960's to about 1976, IIRC. These were muscle cars with class. From the UK, they were either a Chrysler 383 cu in V8 or 440 cu in V8; with 3-2 bbl carbs. These cars, depending on modifications ranged from very fast to crazy fast! IIRC, one set a land speed record of over 230 mph. Another I remember is one of the 4WD cars setting a new speed record for 0 to 100 and back to 0. A feat accomplished in a driving rain storm!
The Congresswoman Whose Husband Called Her Home. 56 years ago this weekend, newspapers across the nation reported on Coya Knutson, the opera-singing daughter of a Norwegian farmer & the 1st woman from MN elected to Congress. Voted in on her own merits, the trailblazing mother could only watch as vengeful party rivals, a manufactured scandal & an alcoholic husband combined to sabotage her career. It all came to a head on the eve of Mother's Day 1958.
