Russian Dolls, A matryoshka. The first Russian nested doll set was carved in 1890. Traditionally the outer layer is a woman, dressed in a sarafan, a traditional Russian peasant dress. The dolls often follow a theme, aside from the typical traditional peasant girls, the themes vary, from fairy tale characters to Soviet leaders. This is an example how Russia's human interaction started to affect everything, including the artwork done.
Matryoshka Dolls (Nesting Dolls) I am obsessed with getting a set of nesting dolls! I want them to be really pretty and ornate but they're SOOOO expensive. Worth every penny for sure but I'm a poor folk living in the Barrio.
