Note the typical 60's low bun in this pic. Women in the 60s routinely would keep their hair long, always would wear them in such large bun. Another peculiar feature of the 60's to 80's attire was wearing the key chain of house or cupboard keys on the waist, in some states of India. That was supposed to counter the side effect of the bun's high static charge, that caused phlegm to move up the throat causing the voice to quaver. The acupressure of the key hook, prevented this.
