Jane Galvin-Lewis has worked for the Girl Scouts of America, The National Council of Negro Women, and The Women’s Action Alliance. She's formed her own training company which designed some of the first non-sexist, multicultural toys and puzzles with accompanying curricula. Together with Margaret Sloan Hunter, she formed the nucleus of the National Black Feminist Organization.
On Oct. 24, 1975, 90% of Icelandic women went on strike, refusing to do any work at their homes or their jobs. It was the largest demonstration in the nation's history and shut down the entire country.
