This is a photograph of the wood and plaster Cenotaph which was erected in a very short time in July 1919 to be ready for Peace day, 19th July 1919. It was designed by Lutyens and the permanent stone Cenotaph was erected in time for 11th November 1919 and the armistice day observance.
