The materials used in this illustration include watercolor paints and the use of colored markers to make the illustration stand out from the background. I like this illustration of an animal, as it is original in its concept from having the fur which covers the animals skin being the vegetation. I also like how the other animals are living within the animal itself. What I don't like about this creature design is the lack of detail on the face, as you can't distinguish the main features.
Fiona Tang, a talented artist from Vancouver, has created an awesome series of dark creatures that, despite their grim and ethereal composition, nonetheless seem ready to leap off of the page at you. Tang, who is a student at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, achieves this effect in part by drawing her beasts on large pieces of paper, which allows her to make most of them life-sized.
