The Concorde was the first and only supersonic airliner to be in service. It marks the cooperation of the French and British aviation industries. Its top speed was mach 2, or 1,350 mph, which meant that it was fast enough to break the sound barrier. A flight from Washington D.C. to London only took 3 hours! British Airways and Air France were the only airlines to own them, because their respective governments had to bribe them to. Due to safety concerns, it made its last flight in 2003.
